Direct Info Source ("we," "us," or "our") operates www.directinfosource.com, a Canadian business information directory and related website, listing, advertising, and digital services. This Privacy Policy explains the categories of information we may collect, where it comes from, how we use and disclose it, and how individuals and businesses may contact us about it.
Business profiles may be created or updated using information (a) supplied by business owners, customers, clients, or their authorized representatives; (b) obtained from publicly accessible business websites, business directories, company social-media pages, and other public business sources; or (c) provided through correction requests and ordinary business communications.
Listings may contain business names, categories, descriptions, publicly promoted services, business locations and service areas, company websites and social profiles, published business telephone numbers, and other business-related contact details. Depending on the circumstances, details about sole proprietors or identifiable individuals may qualify as personal information even if connected to a business or already visible online.
Public availability does not, by itself, mean information may be collected, republished, or used for any purpose without restriction. We handle personal information under applicable Canadian privacy laws, including consent requirements and any specific statutory exceptions that apply. Where required, we seek consent or otherwise establish an appropriate legal basis before publishing identifiable personal information.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information, private residential contact details, government identification numbers, payment-card details, or confidential material in public listing fields or ordinary contact forms unless specifically requested through a suitable secure process.
We may use information to operate and maintain the directory; display appropriate business listings; answer inquiries; review corrections or removal requests; provide contracted services; administer billing and accounts; protect the site against spam, misuse, and fraud; troubleshoot and improve performance; comply with legal duties; and maintain records reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Business listing information is displayed to help visitors discover and contact relevant businesses. We do not treat a business's inclusion as proof of an endorsement, partnership, payment, or consent for unrelated uses of personal information.
Details placed in a public business profile may be visible to visitors and search engines. Please keep this in mind when supplying listing content. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the website, hosting, security, communications, payment or administrative systems, subject to appropriate safeguards and contractual obligations where applicable. Information may also be disclosed where legally required, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect legitimate legal rights.
Links and contact options may lead to independent third-party websites or services. Those parties have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Publication of business information in our directory does not authorize unrelated resale or misuse of an individual's personal information.
We may send messages relating to inquiries, requested services, invoices, listing administration, or customer support. Where we send commercial electronic messages, we seek to comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), including applicable consent, sender-identification, and unsubscribe requirements. The public appearance of an email address does not automatically authorize unrelated marketing.
If you receive an optional marketing message from us and want it to stop, use any unsubscribe instructions included or contact us. We will address such requests as required by applicable law.
Some features may use cookies or similar technologies to maintain sessions, support security, remember technical preferences, or assist website operations. Pages may also load services from third parties, such as spam-prevention tools and embedded resources, which can receive technical information under their own policies. Browser settings can generally be used to control or delete cookies, although disabling required cookies may affect certain features.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including service administration, legitimate recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information and the applicable requirements. We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of information, but no internet service or electronic transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Our service providers and technical systems may process or store information outside your province or outside Canada, where it could be subject to the laws of the relevant jurisdiction. We consider applicable contractual, technical, and legal safeguards when using such providers.
If you are a business owner, authorized representative, or individual whose information appears on our site, you may contact us to report inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or improperly published information, or to request access, correction, or removal where applicable. Please identify the listing URL, the specific information concerned, and your requested change. We may request proportionate verification of your identity or authority before changing a listing or disclosing non-public information.
We assess requests in light of applicable privacy law, the nature and source of the information, the rights of affected individuals, and relevant recordkeeping obligations. We do not charge a fee merely to request review or removal of personal information. Changes on our website may take additional time to appear in independent search-engine caches or other third-party services that we do not control.
Depending on the laws that apply, individuals may have rights to request access to personal information, challenge its accuracy, withdraw consent where legally available, or raise a complaint. Some exceptions and identity-verification requirements may apply. We will respond to privacy inquiries within the periods required by applicable law and explain available complaint options when appropriate.
Privacy contact: Direct Info Source Privacy Officer, customerservice@directinfosource.com, or through our Contact Us page.
Our directory and business services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly solicit sensitive information from children through public listing forms. If you believe a child's personal information has been posted inappropriately, contact us so we can review the concern.
We may revise this Privacy Policy as our services, technologies, or legal obligations change. The current version will be displayed on our website with an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of www.directinfosource.com and the business information directory and related website features operated by Direct Info Source ("we," "us," or "our"). Please read them before using the website or submitting content. Separate written agreements, accepted proposals, and invoice terms may govern paid advertising, listing, website development, or other professional services; where they conflict with these website Terms, the applicable written service agreement controls to the extent of the conflict.
Direct Info Source is an independent business-information directory and provider of related digital services. Business profiles may include information supplied by a business or its representative, information from publicly accessible business sources, and subsequent updates. Appearance in our directory does not establish that a business is a customer, advertiser, partner, sponsor, affiliate, or endorsed or verified by Direct Info Source. Some profiles or features may be associated with paid services; any material advertising relationships should be disclosed where required by law.
We are generally not a party to agreements between directory visitors and the independent businesses they contact. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, we do not perform, supervise, insure, or guarantee the services offered by third-party listed businesses.
We aim to provide useful business information, but directory content may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, submitted by others, or changed without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, listings and website content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without a guarantee of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, uninterrupted availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or the quality of third-party services.
Visitors should independently verify business licensing, credentials, insurance, availability, references, pricing, addresses, and other information before hiring, paying, or relying on a listed business. We do not guarantee search placement, sales, enquiries, traffic, or other outcomes unless specifically promised in an applicable written agreement.
When submitting business details, corrections, photographs, logos, text, testimonials, or other material, you represent that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge, is not misleading or unlawful, and that you have the authority and necessary permissions to submit it for the requested directory or service purpose. You must not submit private personal data about another person without an appropriate basis, infringe others' intellectual-property rights, impersonate a business, or provide malicious or deceptive content.
You retain ownership of material you lawfully own. By submitting material for publication or the performance of requested services, you grant Direct Info Source a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, limited to the period reasonably needed for that purpose, to host, reproduce, format, display, and distribute the material in connection with the website or agreed services, subject to applicable law and any written agreement. You confirm you have authority to grant that licence. This licence does not transfer ownership of client logos, trademarks, or third-party content to Direct Info Source.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify Direct Info Source against reasonable third-party claims, losses, and costs arising directly from content you submitted unlawfully, your material breach of these Terms, or your infringement of another party's rights, except to the extent caused by our own wrongful conduct. This provision does not limit rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
We may create or update directory profiles based on business information found in publicly accessible sources, where doing so is legally permitted. Information being publicly accessible does not eliminate privacy, consent, copyright, database, or other legal restrictions. If you believe a listing contains incorrect, outdated, misleading, private, or unauthorized material, please contact us with the listing URL and details of the concern.
We may request reasonable proof of authority before processing a business-profile change or disclosing non-public details. We will review correction and removal requests under applicable law and our Privacy Policy. We do not charge simply to review a request for removal of personal information, and we will not condition legally required removal on purchasing a service.
Listed businesses are responsible for their own products, representations, prices, customer service, safety practices, and compliance with law. Transactions or disputes between a visitor and a listed business are generally matters between those parties. External websites, social-media pages, payment providers, maps, and other linked resources are independently operated. We are not responsible for their content, terms, privacy practices, or availability, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Do not use this website to commit fraud, harass others, transmit malware, interfere with security or availability, bypass rate limits or access controls, scrape or bulk-harvest information in violation of applicable law or these Terms, attempt unauthorized access, or misuse business contact details for unlawful communications. You may not reproduce or commercially republish substantial portions of our original site design, organization, or proprietary content without permission, except as allowed by law.
These restrictions do not claim ownership over independent businesses' facts, names, or lawfully owned third-party materials, and do not limit rights that applicable law grants to users.
Our original website design, original written content, software, and other materials created by or for Direct Info Source may be protected by copyright and other laws. Business names, logos, trade names, photographs, and trademarks appearing in profiles may belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification or with authorization where appropriate. Such appearance does not imply sponsorship or transfer of ownership.
To report allegedly infringing content, contact us with the relevant URL, identification of the work or rights involved, your contact details, and enough information for us to assess the concern.
Requests for proposals and quotations do not automatically create a service contract. Pricing, scope, deliverables, timelines, revisions, hosting, ongoing support, cancellations, payment schedules, and ownership of commissioned work are governed by the applicable accepted proposal or written agreement and mandatory law. We may contact you about inquiries and services you request. Promotional electronic messages, where sent, are subject to Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation and applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.
We may update or discontinue website features, modify directory presentation, correct errors, or restrict access to protect the service or comply with law. We may review, refuse, correct, or remove listings or submissions where we reasonably believe they are unlawful, inaccurate, harmful, misleading, or inconsistent with these Terms, subject to applicable legal obligations and any service agreement. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Direct Info Source is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the directory, third-party listings, external links, service interruptions, or reliance on inaccurate third-party information, including lost business opportunities or profits. For claims relating to a paid service, any applicable allocation or limitation of liability in the signed service agreement governs where enforceable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or diminishes mandatory consumer or privacy rights. The enforceability of any limitation depends on the circumstances and applicable law.
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms. Use of the website does not by itself create consent to every possible use of personal information. Specific consents are obtained where legally required.
These Terms are interpreted under the applicable laws of Canada and the province or territory having jurisdiction, without displacing mandatory statutory rights or protections. We encourage you to contact us first with concerns so we can attempt a practical resolution. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, jurisdiction and available remedies are determined by the applicable law and any controlling written agreement.
We may revise these Terms periodically. The current text and its effective date will be displayed on this website. Material changes affecting existing contractual commitments will be handled according to applicable law and any written agreement.
For listing corrections, privacy questions, intellectual-property reports, or other concerns, contact Direct Info Source at customerservice@directinfosource.com or through our Contact Us page. Please include the relevant page URL and enough detail for us to assess your request.
